August Seminar Will Move You
To Expand Your Knowledge

Remember the drama surrounding the last time your business moved to a new space?  How can a facility manager minimize the lost time, strayed equipment, mislaid documents, and damaged relationships from the wake of major or minor office relocation?  What is the state-of–the-art in the moving industry and what standards should a facility manager use to choose a successful relocation partner?

Internal facility moving makes up to 35 % of the total commercial moving market.  These companies can also provide systems furniture teardown, reconfiguration, and set-up of existing furniture, which optimally can result in cost savings and more efficient use of existing furniture.  Cardboard boxes are being replaced with plastic reusable e-bins which can be secured when moving confidential documentation.  Commercial moving companies now move everything from servers to desktop computers more quickly and efficiently than most IT professionals, allowing the IT department to concentrate on getting the system operational.Wayne Moss

Educate yourself on these methods at 7:15 am on Wednesday morning, August 17th, 2011 at the Facility Manager Association of New Mexico breakfast seminar held at Garduno's Uptown.  Industry expert Wayne Moss with Moving Solutions will facilitate the discussion.  Reservations are necessary and must be received by 5 pm, Monday, August 15th.  Members: $30.00; non-members: $35.00.  Contact (preferred) or by calling 505-377-5309 to attend.

and Provides Networking for Facility Professionals

Even in the toughest of economic times, 126 golfers showed their support for the Facility Manager Association of New Mexico in its effort to raise money for scholarships at Central New Mexico Community College by golfing first under overcast skies and finishing in 90 degree heat at the beautiful Isleta Eagle at Hard Rock Championship Golf Course on July 29th, 2011.

Their personal reward for their participation was a great day of camaraderie, spirited competition, food and beverages, and avalanches of door prizes walking out the door with players and the 20+ golf-helpers alike.

Spirit and loyalty from the new organization’s members and constituents was the deciding factor for success. Distinct contributions, both large and small, from countless companies and outstanding individuals personalized the gathering.

Most companies fielded a team or multiple teams of golfers as they competed in the Championship Division to win an esteemed travelling gold trophy.  But the golfers in the ABCD Scramble Division enjoyed the outing too. Travers Mechanical had an amazing four 4-man teams on the course.
Three 10-foot tables loaded with valuable door prizes cheered up even the worst golfers as the spoils were handed out during the post-golf buffet. Power tools, hand tools, golf gear, tickets to special events and concerts, and restaurant gift certificates were among the many items donated by the supporters of FMANM. No one left empty-handed.

First-timer Tom Cannon with Overhead Door quipped:  “WOW! Friendly folks, beautiful greens, delicious food and drinks and door prizes for all…….great event!”
